Invitation to
1st OA Summit Ötztal
OA patient organizations – quo vadis?
The European osteoarthritis patient organizations are beginning to form on a European level!
The European Network on OsteoArthritis (NetwOArk) aims to establish the European Society for Osteoarthritis (EUSOA) together with research, clinicians, patient organizations and companies.
In the OA PATIENT TASK FORCE, patient organizations are networked worldwide under the umbrella of the Osteoarthritis Foundation International (OAFI) and Arthritis Foundation.
At the 1st OA Summit Ötztal, representatives of European patient organizations will discuss the following questions:

How can the role and cooperation of patient organizations be shaped at national and European level? Is it possible to create a uniform structure to form a powerful European patient organization?

How can we generate “one voice” for interactions with politics/healthcare/regulatory authorities in order to have a European lobby?

How can the differently organized self-help platforms from the various nations and patient organizations with different resources pull together?
The focus is on personal exchange and networking. At the same time, participants will get to know the concept of the Osteoarthritis Health Vacation – a unique initiative in Austria by Arthrose Forum Austria and Vivea Hotel Umhausen in Ötztal.
